How to get data
into Wiggleview
IRIS stores data for most large events at the Data Management
Center (DMC) in Seattle. You can choose an interesting event and request
ASCII files which can then be put into Wiggleview.
1. Go to the Wilber II site at http://www.iris.edu/cgi-bin/wilberII_page1.pl.
2. Choose the event and the network and stations available for that
event. Choose BHZ, BHE and BHN channels only. Choose 'SAC ASCII gzipped
tar file' as the format. Click on the 'Process Request'. You will be
notified by email when the data is available.
3. Download the zip file and extract the individual files. Prepare a
configuration file similar to the 'TurkeyConfig.iv' file in the wiggleviewWilber.zip
file. Save it as a .iv file.
4. Create a RUN.bat file similar to the one in the download. This time
use the new configuration file that you created above.

with VASE
You can use VASE to look at the IRIS network in real-time.
1. Download VASE.zip and wiggleview.zip.
2. You will need Java to run VASE. See the IRIS
DHI clients page for instructions on how to get VASE running. However
you will have to use the modified version of VASE available on this
website in the 'Downloads' section.
3. Unzip wiggleview.zip. Click on the RUN file. Wiggleview will be launched
and will listen for data to be delivered by VASE.
4. Use the GUI launched by VASE to select the event, network and stations.
Here is a snapshot of VASE.

5. If data is available you should see wiggles appear on Wiggleviewe.
