SAGE v1.4, Holidays release!

SAGEUI 2.72 for Mac

SAGEUI 2.72 for Windows

12/21/05
  • Added application window borders which shows various information: application name, rendering cluster, network performance and frame rate.
  • SAGE_DIRECTORY environment variable allows users to run SAGE andapplications regardless of current directory.
  • Multimedia viewer for SAGE. Currently supported files are images, video and pdf files. "Viewers" for additional file types can be written and very easily integrated into SAGE. Multimedia files are viewed by a simple drag-and-drop onto the SAGE GUI, and they are automatically added to the file library for later availability.
  • File library that organizes all the multimedia files previously viewed onSAGE and makes them accessible to all the connected users from the SAGEGUI. Files and directory structures can be changed based on userpreferences.

SAGE v1.3b

10/06/05
  • Includes applications used for iGrid2005 demo: Bitplayer, SVC,JuxtaView and MagicCarpet.
  • Verified wide area streaming from multiple remote rendering clusters.
SAGE v1.3

09/10/05
  • Support of multiple network interfaces so that a single applicationcan stream pixels through different networks.
  • Users can now turn on/off synchronization among displaying or rendering nodes.
  • A unified make file compiles whole sources in this package.
  • Ability to save sessions from the SAGE GUI (the sessions only savethe locations and sizes of all the application windows that were runningand not the state of each application).
  • Ability to connect to multiple displays from the same SAGE GUI and interact with all of them.
SAGE v1.2

07/26/05
  • Architecture display using SDL instead of GLUT improvedsynchronization jitter, and made window move/resize more stable.
  • Connection manager for all the SAGE and SAGE GUIconnections.
  • Chat feature added to SAGE GUIs.
SAGE v1.1

06/20/05
  • Able to run multiple applications and juxtapose their imagery.
  • Able to run multiple instances of an application.
  • Freely move and resize application windows on tiled displays.
  • SAGE GUI supports intuitive interfaces for the SAGE operations: application execution, window move/resize/reordering.
  • Scalably supporting big tiled display (in our case 11x5 tileddisplay with 100Mpixel display resolution).
  • Support for parallel rendering applications.
  • Able to stream pixels over wide area networks using UDP.
SAGE v1.0

05/01/05
  • This is an experimental version.
