filament "filament" is an interactive environment in which a user plays with a computer-generated lightbulb. The show/experience/whatever will begin with an introductory title, illuminating the word "filament". Then the cave/idesk will be dark. The user will be prompted to press the wand button via a little round prompt-card which pops up over the wand with the word "press" on it. When the wand button is pressed, a few sparks (they'll look like small red-yellow streaks) will fly from the end (or is it the top?) of the wand. If the user presses the button a few times, and fast enough, the end of the wand'll "light up" (sound of a match-strike) and it'll look like a moving garrotte. The light from it will make visible a little of the surrounding environment. If the user doesn't press the button a few times, the prompt will return with more explicit instructions. The user will only be able to see the features of the space near the light, which will be made up of curved, semifeatureless walls. If any part of a wall is sufficiently illuminated, it will burn away, revealing another wall behind it. The underlying wall may or may not have salient features or differences. This can be repeated until the user's light burns out. Alan Millman
