EVLers Participate at Northwestern University's Symposium on Immersive Artistic Environments

Northwestern University's Block Museum, Center for Art and Technology, and School of Music are co-hosting an Immersion Weekend on May 25 - 27. This Memorial Day weekend extravaganza held in the Block auditorium begins with a keynote address on Friday evening on the history of immersive environments by Eduardo Kac of the School of the Art Institute, followed by a reception and a screening of a 3-D film.

Saturday, artists working with immersive technologies and multi-modal approaches will exhibit and talk about their work, and scholars will address the aesthetic and ethical implications of these new technologies. EVL students will demonstrate the following virtual reality artworks on the ImmersaDesk at the Louis Studio Building:

  • Infinite Studio (Todd Margolis)
  • Landscapes: Les Fleurs du Mal (Joseph Tremonti)
  • Performances for the Music Marathon are scheduled for Sunday 4-10pm.

    All events are free and open to the public.
