Electronic Visualization Laboratory's (EVL) and Software Technologies Research Center's (STRC) Associate Director, Alan Verlo is recognized for his truly exemplary service, commitment, and dedication as one of the recipients of the 2002 UIC Award of Merit. Alan has made an outstanding contribution to EVL's/STRC's productivity in virtual reality and advanced networking research; he is directly responsible for the management and administration of EVL's/STRC's software and hardware infrastructure, systems support and maintenance, and is leading EVL/STRC in the development of the next-generation of "cyber-infrastructure" for networked computing systems/facilities.
