Geological Society of America (GSA) 2004 Annual Meeting and Exposition

EVL director Jason Leigh and graduate student Arun Rao attended the Geological Society of America (GSA) 2004 Annual Meeting and Exposition. They demonstrated UIC's OptIPuter-enhanced GeoWall technology in the Joint Oceanographic Institutions (JOI) booth. JOI is a $600-million program in charge of NSF's ocean drilling expeditions. Dr. Leigh also presented, "Emerging Technologies for Data-Intensive Geoscience Research and Education."

The US Geological Survey EROS (Earth Resources Observation Systems) Data Center, an OptIPuter partner, conducted the same demonstrations at the Committee on Earth Observation Satellites (CEOS) WGISS Meeting, September 6-10, 2004, in Beijing, P.R. China.
