Dr. Frederico Pereira Laier of the Universidade Federal do Rio De Janeiro (UFRJ) invited Jason Leigh and Paul Morin to give presentations on EVL's advanced visualization, collaboration and networking research to his students, the Computer Graphics Technology Group at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (TecGraf - PUC-Rio), and members of the Financiadora de Estudos e Projetos (FINEP) - which is Brazil's equivalent of the U.S. National Science Foundation.

Brazil's first GeoWall system was also installed, in the Geology Department at the Universidade Federal do Rio De Janeiro.
