EDITOR'S NOTE: The Electronic Visualization Laboratory (EVL) at University of Illinois at Chicago recently hosted two Northwestern University Medill School graduate students who are majoring in science journalism. Frank Jackson and Annie Koval spent four full days at EVL in fulfillment of their practicum course work. FEBRUARY 22, 2011 - SAGE is the heartbeat of a wall of interactive screens where people from around the world can simultaneously run and manipulate videos, images, charts and other applications. SAGE -- Scalable Adaptive Graphics Environment -- keeps it all humming. The program interconnects various users and wall displays in more than 50 global locations.
