Proposed usage

The cluster

• 32-node cluster
• Each node is a 64bit architecture with:
  • 2 AMD Opteron processors (2Ghz, Model 246)
  • 4GB of DDR 400Mhz RAM
  • 1.5TB of shared local storage over parallel filesystem (PVFS) [8x250GB on a RAID5 configuration] and 250GB of local storage
  • 3 gigabit network interfaces: on-board gigabit, single-mode fiber gigabit, multi-mode fiber gigabit
  • Nvidia Quadro3000 AGP graphics card
• Each node drives 2 LCD panels at 1600x1200 pixels each
