Taping Over Blisters for Kendo Practice

(An enhanced version of: http://www.kbh-kendo.dk/modules.php...nual&file=pleje)
So you got yourself a blister...
Grab a roll of Sports Tape and Moleskin. Cut out a piece of Moleskin about the size of the blister and place the furry side (non-sticky side)  against the blister.  You don't want the sticky side on the blister - ouch!!! Keep the moleskin in place by applying a piece of sports tape. It doesn't have to be fancy sports tape- I've found el-cheapo Walgreens brand to work just fine.

Alternatively, instead of Moleskin, you can also use a Band-Aid Blister Block bandage to cover up the blister. This stuff has a central pad with a sticky gel-like bandage around it so it sticks to the feet very tightly- however there is only one size, and it costs twice as much as the moleskin. So I still recommend the moleskin because it can be cut to any size.
Apply sports tape between the toes. Important: Make sure to have your foot flat on the ground and with some weight on it, when finally situating the tape over the top of the foot.
Apply one layer of sports tape around the foot, taping over the tape between the toes. Again, make sure you are standing on that foot when applying the tape. Apply tape tightly but not so tight that it feels like it is cutting off your circulation.
Apply a second layer over the first layer using the same guidelines above, but a bit further down the foot.

I have found this bandaging technique to survive a two-hour session including jigeiko.
Addendum for kendoka who don't get blisters anymore because a thick callus has formed under their left foot: Sometimes after practice the callus feels like it's burning- presumably from a lot of friction and pressure (if you have thin feet)- I tend to get this after every practice. The above taping method works well, especially if you need to be in shape to practice the next day as well.
