Connecting decks to and from the AVID can be pretty complicated- this is a list of the different setups you can use:

Beta Video BCB-75 => JVC Switcher (BCB75) => AVID AVID => JVC Switcher => BVW75
Beta Audio BCB75 => Patch Panel => AVID Input AVID => Audio Mixer =>BVW75 (Normaled)

Hi8 Video SVO5800 => DPS290 (set to Hi8) => JVC Switcher(DPS290) => AVID AVID => JVC Switcher => DPS290 (Cave) => Matrix #4(Video Only)=> Hi8
Hi8 Audio Hi8 => Matrix (audio only on Patch 5) => Audio Patch (Matrix 5 Out) => AVID input AVID => Audio patch panel => Matrix input #5 (Audio Only) => Hi8

VHS Video VHS Deck1 => Matrix => DPS290 (set to Matrix) => JVC Switcher (DPS290)=> AVID AVID => JVC Switcher => DPS290 (Cave) => Matrix #4 (Video Only) => VHS1

VHS Audio

VHS => Matrix (audio only on Patch 5) => Audio Patch (Matrix 5 Out) => AVID input AVID => Audio patch panel => Matrix input #5 (Audio Only)=>VHS1

Sirrius JVC Switcher (Sirrius)=> AVID

*Note: In addition to connecting the audio and video in/out, you need to connect the RS-232 Control Signal from the AVID to the deck you want to control.
Also, be sure to set that deck to "Remote" or "9Pin" Control, so the deck will allow itself to be controlled from the AVID.

**This is the setup as of 11/1/98
