Setup
Zbox. (This is the digital part of the process)
Login to zbox 0.0 (or whatever
machine is running to the edit suite)
[Run your application on
the simulator.]
In another window, type 'vcp'
at the prompt. After a pause the Video Panel window should appear.
Examine the figure below
to see what the Video Panel settings should look like.
Under the 'Utilities' option,
selsct 'Live Video Output'.
A window outline should appear.
Position it over your simulator window.
Setup
Edit Suite. ( This is the analog part of the process)
Power up using the Furman
power amps.
Set switcher to Sirius option.
Insert source tape into the
BCB75.
make sure that far right switch
under tape slot is set in the up position -> "Remote".
use control switcher to sirius
vlan pin on the Clear Signal Junction Panel. Switch the Player A end to
the SiriusVlan connection. ( on bay with CD and DAT )
Setup
the Simulator . ( see 1.2. above)
walldisplay simulator -1 648x486+0+0
remove the CAVE outline by
pressing INSERT on the keyboard
remove the user's head by pressing
'u'
remove the wand by pressing
'w'
NOTE: If, when dumping simulator
footage to tape, you wish to have the cursor displayed also, there is a
program that SGI has provided to allow for the cursor to show as part of
the graphics. To run it, type /usr/local/bin/cursor.
