irtual Unism is a CAVE based art piece
realizing and extending Unist theories
created by Katarzyna Kobro and Wladyslaw
Strzeminski, two early XX Century art pioneers.
As artists we are interested in exploring the
potential of Unism in Virtual Reality and how
Unistic theories can be translated, interpreted
and extended, while experimenting with the relationship between sound, colors, forms, body presence and movement in space. All this creates
an introduction to the experiencing virtual sculpture
as an infinite energy form, of time and space.

culptress Katarzyna Kobro and painter Wladyslaw Strzeminski, colleagues of Malevich, Chagall, and Kandinsky, are considered
important figures in the history of European avant-garde, connected with Constructivism. Their major achievement is the creation of the Unism, an art movement, in painting and sculpture. Katarzyna Kobro and Wladyslaw Strzeminski in their book Space Compositions: Space-Time Rhythm and Its Calculations from 1931, described the mathematics of the open spatial compositions in terms of an 8:5 ratio. They developed a theory of the organic character of sculpture, a fusion of Strzeminski’s Unistic theory of painting and Kobro’s ideas about sculpture’s basis in human rhythms of movement, time-space rhythm, and mathematical symbolism.
