2019 Student's Choice Presentations

The goal of the student choice presentation is for you to present something current that is of interest to you in the area of VR / AR so everyone in the class can see what variety of things are out there. You have to write and talk about something that actually exists, at least in prototype form. What's cool about it? Why is it a good use of VR or AR? Who are its intended users? What are the issues with it?

By 11/4 you should send me a link to a web page you create that briefly describes the application or piece of hardware that you want to write and talk about. It can't be anything that we have talked about or demoed in class. It can't be anything someone has used as a student choice presentation before. The goal here is to show new stuff. Things in other languages or from other countries are encouraged. If multiple people want to talk about the same thing then the person who's email reaches me first gets the topic, so I suggest finding a topic early. I will keep this page updated with the current list of topics.

By 11/11 your final web pages are due where you should have 3 pages of text plus images discussing your topic, including links to all of the materials (videos, pdfs, etc.) that you will use in your presentation.

Each person will have 3 minutes for their presentation in class.

For homework each of these two weeks you should pick one of the technologies that was discussed each week and write up your own critique of it in the usual length and add it to your website.
