The goal of the student choice presentation is for you to critique and present something current that is of interest to you in the area of VR / AR, so everyone in the class can see what variety of things are out there. You have to write and talk about something that actually exists, at least in prototype form. This includes:
    - Introduction to what it is
    - Why is it a good use of VR or AR?
    - Who are its intended users?
    - What are the issues (positive and negative) with it?

Be sure to pick a topic where you will be able to discuss all four issues. The goal here is to show that you can use your knowledge and experience from the class to effectively critique VR / AR hardware and applications. The topic could be a new piece of hardware, or a new piece of software, or VR / AR being applied in a new way or to a new field.

By 11/4 you should send Andy a link to a web page you create that briefly describes the application or piece of hardware that you want to write and talk about. It can't be anything that we have talked about or demoed in class. It can't be anything someone has used as a student choice presentation before (see the list below). The goal here is to show new stuff. Things in other languages or from other countries are encouraged. If multiple people want to talk about the same thing then the person who's email reaches me first gets the topic, so I suggest finding a topic early. I will keep this page updated with the current list of topics that have been chosen.

By 11/10 you should add a public web page to your course website where you should have at least 3 pages of text plus images discussing your topic, including links to all of the materials (videos, pdfs, etc.) that you will use in your 5 minute YouTube video presentation on your topic, and a link to that video presentation. Email Andy and Sai when the webpage is available. The video presentation should cover the same 4 topics as the web pages. You can use your web pages in the presentation, as well as additional media (images, PDFs, spec sheets, demo videos, all properly attributed) but all of the commentary needs to be your words, and you need to be the person doing all of the narrating.

If we we doing the presentations in class then students would be asking questions in class. Since we are socially distanced and asynchronous this term we will be doing the Q/A through Piazza. Each person should create a New Post of type Note for their Student Choice Presentation with the Summary containing your full name and topic and tagged students_choice by 9pm on 11/10. Each person should post 1 question on Piazza to each of 3 other people in the class by creating a followup discussion for each. The questions should be thoughtful, specific to the work presented, and be good questions (re Project 2). The questions can not be the same for multiple presentations. The question can not have been asked of that presentation before. You should respond to any questions you receive with detailed answers.

People will be scored on the quality of the questions you ask and the quality of the answers you give to others. All of the questions should be answered before Friday 11/20 at 9pm, so please ask all of your questions before 9pm on 11/18 to make sure people have time to answer.

The topic can not have been presented in class, or presented before by a student in a previous class, so please check your topic with the following list of the previous presentations, and the list below that of topics currently chosen for this term:
