More on the presentations

The paper presentations will be done individually, be 25 to 30 minutes long and are expected to be be professional - you don't need to dress up, but the A/V should be good, things should be rehearsed, and the audience should learn from the presentation.

And whatever you do, don't read the paper to your audience.

Assume 5 minutes of questions at the end.

Paper presentation slots will be randomly assigned, you may trade slots with other students as you wish as long as you notify Andy about it.

You can find papers on the web or in print. The CHI proceedings and the TOCHI Journal are good places to look. As soon as you find a paper you like, let Andy know what it is so he can agree to it. The paper must be made available to the class at least one week before your presentation, either by you giving out printed copies, or by sending around a URL where it can be found on the web.

More on the project

The project will involve taking a user interface from the idea phase through brainstorming and storyboarding and mockups and into an initial user evaluation phase. The details of the project will be presented in the second week of class. The project can be worked on in groups - the size of the groups will depend on the number of students enrolled in the class.

Details on the project can be found here.
