The UIC
Department of Computer Science will be participating in the Blue Waters Virtual Course on High
Performance Visualization for Large-Scale Scientific Data
Analytics.
This semester-long online course will
include video lectures, quizzes, and homework assignments and
will provide students with free access to the Blue Waters
supercomputer. The course is intended for graduate students in
computer science or areas related to computational sciences
who are interested in learning how to use visualization to
analyze large-scale scientific data sets and also will be of
interest to students who are considering scientific
visualization as a research topic for their advanced studies.
The course will be taught by Han-Wei Shen at the Ohio State
University.

The UIC node of the course will being held as a CS 594 Special Topics class (33792) on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 - 4:45 in 2068 ERF (the EVL Cyber-Commons Classroom). Andrew Johnson is the local instructor.
Local office hours are 1:00 - 2:00 and 4:45 - 6:00 on Tuesdays
and Thursdays, and by appointment
