I read Luis Bunuel's biography where it describes his martini recipe.

Chill the glass and the bottles of gin and vermouth in the refridgerator for several hours.

Pour the gin into the glass.

Set the vermouth bottle such that a beam of sunlight passes through it and into the gin in the glass.

Add olive and drink.

The first martini I had tasted so bad I had to pour it over rocks - but I perservered until I loved martinis.
