ECT/HCI 441 Homework 2 |
After you have tested your Web pages with five users, you will communicate your findings in report form. The goal of the report is to describe strengths and weaknesses in the prototype and to suggest actions to improvement.
What Jakob Nielsen says about people not liking to read Web pages is also true about usability reports. Busy clients and bosses have no time to wade through thick documents. The most effective format for your report is starkly different from the familiar form of a traditional term paper. The first time you use this format, it may seem unnatural but it is well worth your time to practice using it.

4. Suggestions are better than criticism. Attempt to phrase your findings as suggestions for improvement. Give a recommendation followed by the rationale.

7. Be as brief as possible. Your client will prefer a short report.
8. In an appendix, list your usability measures. For each usability measure, list your numeric value you determined for homework 1, and list the numeric value produced from your user test.
