ECT/HCI 441 Usability Testing |
During this week's class (April 22, 2003) you will be testing your web design on users. You are free to schedule most of your usability testing as you see fit, but during the evening, you will conduct one session in our classroom where the instructor will observe your test. The criteria for grading are posted at TeamPerformance. You will need to test your web site by using a paper protype described in the text, handouts, and class. The prototype should not be of the entire site. It can be either a horizontal or verticle prototype (task paths) depending on the usability measures you choose for homework 1.
Users
You will be responsible for recruiting
five people who fit your user profile for your usability tests. One of the users
will need to be available for the observed usability test. It is perfectly
acceptable to recruit people from your fellow classmates, as long as they fit
your user profile.
If you cannot find a person who fits your profile who can be available during the observed usability test and have to rely on a classmate, then, for your purposes, the observed test is a "practice test" and you should not include the results of the observed test in your report.
Schedule
This is the schedule for the observed
usability tests. Each team will pick a time slot for their observation during
the next (Jan 20) class. Once the time slots are chosen, this schedule will
be filled
in with team colors.
