TacTile is a High-definition Multi-touch LCD display designed for the visual exporation
of scientific datasets. The system can be built using off-the-shelf components. TacTile
uses a LCD display as opposed to a projector, which means a higher picture quality,
lower cost, and longer life span. It is greatly suited for both scientific applications
as well as museum and informal education applications. Future generations of TacTile will be able to display auto-steroscopic 3D images, as well
as 2D images at the same time.
TacTile has been developed by the Electronic Visualization Laboratory at the University of Illinois
at Chicago.
