Frivolous KidPix AnimationsThese are standalone animations, which means that they include their own movie player. They only run on Macs. They were created with a product i highly recommend, "Kidpix Studio." It's way cool! |
To view these animations, you must have a Mac with StuffIt Expander. Click once on the link, and the .hqx file and the expanded file will (probably) be deposited into your StuffIt cache. Double-click on the expanded file and enjoy! |

Q: "Why didn't the animation play when i clicked on the icon?"
A: "Read the directions, ya bum!"
feedback, please! Did you download either of my animations? caylor@evl.uic.edu
I cannot take credit for creating this lovely image; i merely
turned it into a start-up screen. The original can be found at
http://www.catalog.com/mrm/barbe/
To download this image, you must have StuffIt Expander (see above). Once the file called "StartupScreen" is expanded onto your hard drive, move it into your System folder. The next time you start up your Mac, you will be greeted by Madge's smiling face. ![]() Mr. Monkey's Mischief Tip: Surprise your co-workers by installing this image on their Macs. |

Q: "Why didn't the picture get big when i clicked on the icon?"
A: "Read the directions, ya bum!"
All the sounds below were sampled from games i tested at Viacom. "Ferget it!" comes from "Nickelodeon Director's Lab," for which i was the lead tester. It's fun for all ages -- i promise i'm not biased!! The others came from two different Richard Scarry/Busy Town CD ROM games, for which i was only a grub tester.

Listening to SamplesClick on any icon in the .aiff column below. |

Downloading SamplesFirst, you need to have StuffIt Expander (see explanation above, if necessary). All you do is click once on any icon in the .hqx column, and the sample will be expanded onto your hard drive. |

Using Samples as "Alert Sounds"After you've dowloaded a sample, move the expanded sound file into your "System" file, located inside your System Folder. The "System" icon looks like a briefcase, and although it's technically a file, it behaves like a folder in some ways. |

Home-Made Windows Desktop PatternsBelow you see two rows of images, underneath each of which is either a duplicate image, or an "unknown format" icon. This lower image is the actual .bmp file; you will see the "unknown format" icon if your browser (such as Netscape) does not support .bmp images. To download a desktop pattern, position your cursor over its .bmp image on the bottom row, and hold down the right mouse button. You will get a menu from which you should select "Save this image." To be able to use it as a desktop, you need to save the file into your Windows directory; for example, c:\windows\lizard2.bmp |
DAMN YOU, MICROSOFT!!!!! In an obvious attempt to prevent you from having one of my happy-go-lucky desktop patterns to take your mind off the pain of using Windows, Bill Gates is slowly turning all IBM-compatible web browsers against .bmp files!! Many browsers that formerly allowed you to perform the above operations now seem to be refusing to do so. My advice: Save the .gif files & convert them with a paint program, or EMAIL ME and i will personally send them to you as mail attachments!! I'M NOT DEAD YET, GATES!!!!!!
