The Industrial Virtual Reality Symposium, hosted by the National Institute of Standards and Technology and the Industrial Virtual Reality Institute of the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), was held November 1 and 2, 1999 at UIC. The event focused upon industrial applications and the adoption of virtual reality technology.
How will virtual reality impact the way business develops and manages mechanical and industrial systems? Tele-collaboration, training, information management, product design and reengineering are only a few functional areas where this technology is finding its applications.
How are research institutions an industries contributing to the evolution of the technology and its applications? Invited speakers, paper presentations, video presentations, research demonstrations, exhibits, workshops, and round table discussions will focus on the latest advances in software, hardware, and applications.
