Professor Chris Brown, director of the Mills Center of Contemporary Music will be present “Supercollider Software for Live, Interactive Performance and Improvisation” at the March 2015 AES@UIC meeting to be held at the Electronic Visualization Laboratory’s Cyber-Commons. This presentation will include an overview and live demos of original software optimized for live interactive performance and improvisation.

Chris Brown is an internationally renown composer, pianist, and electronic musician; he creates music for acoustic instruments with interactive electronics, for computer networks, and for improvising ensembles. Collaboration and improvisation are consistent themes in his work, as well as the invention and performance of new electronic instruments. Supercollider provides the underpinnings for his current work and will be the focus of his presentation to the AES@UIC community.
