April 30th probably came sooner than expected.  Given the nature of the event, it probably felt like it would never come.  The day of the show, as expected, was quite chaotic.  The following timeline stories the events that transpired in relation to the show.

 Friday, April 30, 1999:
11:00 AM Tom and his sister Penny, aka "Flip", go shopping for the necessary foods.
1:30 PM
I arrive at EVL and proceed to put together the necessary tables and equipment to bring over to the Behavioral Sciences Building.  I recruit Josephine Anstey to assist me in bring the equipment over to the building.  John Landry offers to drive smaller equipment over.  I agree.
2:30 PM I begin rolling the tables over.  The noise the of the dolly I'm using is deafening.  Josephine and John proceed to load his vehicle with boxes containing the necessary supplies and paperwork.
3:00 PM Meet with Tom at the Behavioral Sciences building.  Begin setting up tables and start preparing dishes and food supplies.  Flip and Josephine begin preparing the food.  Tom goes about setting up the projector and the borrowed Betacam sp deck.
4:00 PM I meet with Javier Girado who will act as chauffeur as he drives me to get the alcoholic beverages.   This turns out to be a hellish experience as two factors (Friday evening traffic and misplacement of the address) play against us.  We end up stopping to get the address then face even more traffic.  We finally arrive at Sam's Wine and Liquor and go about picking up the keg, the wine, ice, and a tap.  After about an hour and a half we manage to get back to BSB.
5:30 PM I meet my parents as we're pulling up to the front of the building.  My relatives are with them.  They proceed to help me unload the alcohol and the foods that they have brought.

I greet Tom who's talking with an AV services person.  He informs me that the system is not set properly and that we're not getting any output from the beta deck.  Plan B is proposed and accepted.  Tom and the AV guy go about repatching the wiring to take information from the VHS deck.  The quality is not as good but it will have to do.

I go back outside to check on set up.

6:00 PM Jim Costigan arrives to save the day.  He manages to hook up our Betacam SP deck to the correct configurations that will allow for output.

Tom and I inform our ushers (Carlos Orrego, Ya Lu Lin, and Natt Mintrasak) to start passing out the programs and bring people into the auditorium.  Tom and I go and change into better clothes.

I speak with the security person and get the low down on what he wants to do and what I want him to do.

6:20 PM
A little late, but no matter.  The food seems to be preoccupying people.  I announce to the masses that the show will begin.  Tom and I get in front of the audience do a quick introduction and then start the show.

It goes off without a hitch.

7:30-10:00 PM
More of a blur than anything else.  We show the piece two more times, giving a short intro before each airing.  The audience seems to really like the show.  Inebriation starts to set in.
10:20 PM
The show winds down.  We clean up whatever is left of the food and then pack the tables into the auditorium for storage.

Tom and I go to our respective parties and such.

Saturday, May 1, 1999;
11:00 AM Tom and I, recovering from the previous night, set up the show.  We start again at 12:00 pm and show the piece to a few random people for a total of 2 times.
3:00 PM
With a poor showing we decide to clean up earlier than expected.
4:00 PM The Show is officially over.

The catering was a joint effort among the clan Alexander and the tribe of Frisch.  It consisted of several trays of vegetables, the finest meats and cheeses that Cub Foods had to offer.  Desserts were supplied by Mrs. Frisch, with appetizers by the Alexanders.  Beverages consisted of  2 liter bottles of soda, a keg of beer, and several boxes of wine.

Audio stimulation was provided through a stereo in the background playing several jazz selections in constant rotation.

Johnny Lawson was recruited to take digital still shots of the show, while Tom Custer, displaying his new toy (a digital video recorder), volunteered to take video of the event.
