The gray drizzle gives way to a clear blue dawn and I give in to my youngest dog's law. We stand in my small suburban yard and play catch until my hands become too chilled. I can still see my breath, but I feel the promising warmth of the day. We return inside and turn on the magnet to see what the weather will be. I smile when I see the sunrise and sunset times. They are getting further apart. I go upstairs, turn on my other magnet and write this down.
