p.o -2.4 [memory]
Award 3D Gesture, IDEAS Festival 2005
“Time moves in one direction, memory in another.”
Where was I wandering? How long have I been wandering? Why was I wandering?
The butterfly reaches into my approach to my memory in the past. It tries to
covered I am part of something whose entirety is part of me and I supposed the
memory could go on forever.
P.O -2.4 [memory] is an animation based on my painting which was painted on
paper with Asian methods. The painting shows large shelves of books and scrolls
along with decorative pottery, flowers and metal bowls, which symbolically represent
the honor to one. Utopias in the East do not exist in the future but in the
past, and this tendency to idealize the past also finds its expression in art.
This ‘East’ concept was transformed into digital objects to remodel
for animation.

p.o 2.4
P.O 2.4 is an OpenGL/Inventor project based on a traditional painting
which was painted on paper with traditional methods. It is about real
time based movement of moving images. It explores the area of the vitality
of space and movement generation spaces. I want to think about space as
an action-oriented or a dynamic process. It was more intriguing to focus
on the empty space, which they generate by each time they pass, than them-selves.
All cubes randomly move in real time and never self-repetitive. They
are based on a set of simple rules that create complex orders.
