UIC has a subscription to Lynda.com which is very useful online training library. If you like to run some software such as photoshop, maya, 3D Studio Max, and etc, this is a great place for self-studying. See ACCC webpage here.
If you are interested in industry standard optical motion capture system for your character animation, EVL has a very nice 8 camera Vicon motion capture system on campus.

A lot of motion data is available from this site. You can review motion clip and download it in varous format. If you are considering humanoid type character in your project but do not have enough time to capture your own motion, this may be helpful.
Modeling for Virtools from icinemastudio class website
Well documented guidelines for modeling in Maya especially for Virtools. Look through their note and take it into account while you model and animation your object in maya for your project.
