After loosing our 4th drummer, me Ray and Aaron finally gave up and bought a sampler.  Stylus was the result of this first forray into electronic music.  Just as the name Stylus implies, we had no particular stylistic goals in mind.  As we worked on music together, and alone we came up with our own styles.  These styles are reflected in these diverse clips from the CD "Style Less" (Available by e-mailing me)
The Drippy Thang- Aaron
346kb .au file (11khz 16bit 2:1 uLaw)
Aaron's love of the dancehall reggae chant brought this dance song to the top of our list as we played two parties in Trent T's attic.  The drippy dangles, and so do the lyrics- come get down.

Freaks- Tom
505kb .au file (11khz 16bit 2:1 uLaw)
After a semester of Paul Zinder's "The History of Horror Films", Tom was inspired by a 1954 film entitled "Freaks".  These circus side show freaks showed many similarities with the alties at our college, so the song leaned in that way.

Fuck you (and Stylus too) -All of us
431kb .au file (11khz 16bit 2:1 uLaw)
When asked what she thought of  Stylus, Tom's then girlfriend had this in reply, so the story goes...  This more traditional club song was the result of a group effort from the entire band.

Give You Love -Ray
268kb .au file (11khz 16bit 2:1 uLaw)
Ray's love of dancing clearly brings the beats to the front of this song. With his philosophy of "when in doubt, turn up the kick drum" Ray gives us a lot of love on this track.

Happy -Tom
393kb .au file (11khz 16bit 2:1 uLaw)
What began as a sarcastic statement on his social life, the power of good music brought this song up to Stylus standards.
Of special note is the use of Tom's sampled voice in the song.
