 Pipemen v3.1 1996, 3D CG Image, 8"X10"
 This piece explores the artist's fears of a future techno-fetish society.
The pipemen are a terrible  combination of living creatures and unfeeling technology.
Nightmares stemming from mass-media images, as well as popular movies helped
to create these beings who may very well exist in virtual environments in your own basement.
This image is part of an ongoing series of biological/digital assemblages created with
Alias|Wavefront's  Power Animator software.
 
 
 
 
After receiving his BFA from Syracuse University, 
Tom is pursuing a MFA in Electronic Visualization at 
The University Of Illinois at Chicago. For Tom, hiking 
and rock climbing have faced off against computer graphics 
and ambient-techno music to build strong opinions on the 
battle of technology with nature. While at Syracuse, Tom 
worked with interactive multi- media, 3D animation, 
procedural animation and electronic music.
