Sometime soon I'll be putting some quicktime clips of my traditional, computer, and video time based work.

Digital.Soul 1997
A computer animation about technology and the human factor is composed of various sources of footage.  From live video feedback to scanned images and Alias|Wavefront animation, the images meld to form new varieties of technology.  AfterEffets was used to composite the elements together.  Sounds also come from a variety of sources including a Radio Shack inventor kit, AM radio, and satelite telemetry.

Nuarb 1996
This 3D animation is about the mysterious inner world of my electric razor.  The sounds all come from various samples of the razor edited and reformed on a digital sampler.

Period Four 1997
A procedural animation (one built from programming rather than a package) was done with OpenGL.  Functions based on an obscure fractal generation technique called "Lyapunov's Exponent" in which 2 poplulation functions are pitted against each other.  Post processing was done in Alias Composer to create a more varied visual language.

Chicago Messenger 1997
This video documentary was created from a series of almost 400 still photographs, and 2 hours of audio interviews. DeckII and Adobe AfterEffects were used to compile the footage into a cohesive video.  I followed around messengers from two local bike messenger companies here in Chicago. Messenger will be premiered at the Bike Friendly Berkeley Film Festival '99 in February.

Rave Culture 1998
This short documentary film was about the underground party and rave scene in Chicago.  Made from footage shot over the previous year, this 12 minute short explores the "Rave Culture" phenomonon including its positive and negative sides.

Stories from the Bike Shop 1999
Another documentary short, this peice explores the expierence of work at and owning a small bike shop in urban Chicago. Filmed entirely on location at Upgrade Cycle Works, Chicago, learn from Doug and Nestor why they love thier work.
