To link a button to a movie/picture/menu-> select the button-> go down to button window (lower right hand corner)-> open Target drop down menu-> select what the button is linking to
Now if you look at your graphical window, you can see the menu is linked to your movie file (or whatever you linked to)
To add a custom background-> Import file-> select background in stage-> go to lower right hand corner window and open background drop down box-> choose your file
