Filters used in Digital video

Anti-aliasing filter placed before the sampler. It stops frequencies higher than one-half the sampling rate so aliasing cannot occur
Reconstruction converts the series of digital samples into a continuous waveform.

NOTES:

These two filters are common to all digital processing systems. All digital signals will pass through these two filters at some point; often they will go through them many times for practical reasons. Use of low quality filters can introduce instability and noise to perfect digital signals. Therefore use of low quality filters should be avoided if at all possible.
