Highlights from the Final Projects Spring 2025
Inkscapade
Group: Aaron Willming, Srinath Bellamkonda, Ethan Ky
Inkscapade is a puzzle platformer game for PC in which the player
can draw on the screen to create platforms of ink, with the goal of
reaching the end of every level. The player has a limited amount of
ink, and therefore can only create a certain number of platforms per
level. You have to manage your ink wisely to smartly clear each
level.
Hamster Havoc
Group: Kate Panlilio, Habeeb Rehman, Sanjana Balamurugan
Hamster havoc is a first-person CAVE2 VR puzzle platformer game. A
hamster with telekinesis is being kept and experimented on by a mad
scientist and having had enough, the hamster decides to breakout and
rolls around a hamster ball to escape and be free. The hamster uses
their powers to move or destroy objects to platform around a
multi-level room creating a safe path for them to reach the end
destination.
Clone Phantom
Group: Abhinav Sandru, Yurii Koval, Ahmad Talal Alkhars
Play as a young ninja apprentice trapped in a mysterious,
ever-shifting temple. Harness the power of your clones to reveal
hidden paths and illusory bridges. Escape the temple by solving
puzzles and outsmarting each new challenge.
Paranormal Object Countermeasures Bureau
Group: Nathaniel Herrera, Elson Allmuca, Brian Daza
A single-player analog horror game (First Person) catered to horror
fans in Unity3D, the player will navigate through a series of
increasingly terrifying floors of a level, each home to a unique
monster. Each monster will have its own unique way of chasing and
hunting the player such as using in-game audio or visuals, in which
the player will have to utilize various items given and special
interactions in the level to avoid getting killed.
YUME
Group: Sujot Singh, Harsh Kothari, Angel Ramirez
Yume is a fantastical, yet mysterious, adventure/puzzle game based
within the realm of all dreams. As the dreams of the entire world
are put under threat, you play as both the main characters, Sando
and his brother Pheo, across two different yet connected worlds.
Explore the world of dreams with Sando as you look for a way to
restore the dreams of the world, while struggling with Pheo to stop
the nightmares from escaping!

Death Lives, Life Dies
Group: Farah Kamleh, Julian Mackenzie, Sebastian Ho
A two-player capture, chase and rescue game for the CAVE2 in which both
players share all 88 screens but do not see the same image. This is
achieved by taking advantage of the stereoscopic shader and giving Player
#1, Death, a 2D-R configuration and Player #2, Life, a 2D-L configuration.
Potato vs Chef
Group: Siyuan Zhao, Oscar Franco, Md Anisur Rahman
Potato vs Chef is a multiplayer PC game that revolves around a culinary
chase where players take on the roles of Chef and Potato. The Chef's goal
is to catch the elusive Potato within a specified time frame, while the
Potato aims to evade capture until the time expires.
Mask Mayhem
Group: Isaac Sanchez, Victor Savage, Ahmed Ruyyashi
A magician doesn't like the tone you and your friends give them when
criticizing their mask collection, and he turns you all into
personality-less masks! Now, you must toss yourselves on the faces of
humans to steal their personality and hopefully become human yourself, or
fail to collect enough personality by midnight and remain a mask forever!
(D:) Drive
Group: Hal Brynteson, Nevin Garduno, Orlando Ortiz
Rhythm-racing game that challenges the player to complete the track
quickly, accurately, and with the highest score.
Wizard School: Cheating is Magic
Group: Zachary Robbins, Fatin Abdelrahim, Joshua J. Williams
You are a group of wizard students taking a big exam after spending the
entire night before at a wizard party. Therefore, you need to resort to
using the fraudulentus and collabrotorio spells to pass without getting
caught.

A cooperative puzzle/adventure game that emphasizes cooperation between players in order to decipher puzzles as they progress through the environment.
Cold Feet
Group: Kent Paglomotan, Raimundas Juravicius, Tomasz Hulka (CS)
A barefoot runner gets lost at Glacier National Park and must avoid
snow before being completely stranded in the dark and catching
frostbite.
Ghostibles
Group: Yazmin Reyes, Omar Flores, Sofia Landeta (CS)
A young and eager ghost hunter must fight her way into a haunted mansion using her magical weapons of choice, a gun, and lyre, in order to destroy the gems corrupting the spirits.
The Girl in Striped Pajamas
Group: Jake Campbell, Nishant Chudasama, Syed Hassan (CS)
6-year-old Noa doesn't like her new home and the pajamas she has to wear. She decides to escape but must hide her plan from the 'bullies'.
Aliens in Fashion

Aliens in Fashion
is a turn-based collecting computer game where players manage aliens and fashion items, dress up aliens, and host fashion shows.
Say 'Cheese'!

A dungeon crawler game about a rat reporter who decides to brave the NYC sewer system in order to track down enough evidence to expose the notorious sewer alligator mafia and put a stop to their dastardly deeds
Sir Metronome

You're a bard who is falsely accused of Loitering and you must take up the sword and fight off the royal guard in order to prove your innocence lest you face execution.

Skoglendi Academy

A young wizard must escape an abandoned magic academy set in the woodlands in medieval Iceland.
CAVE2 Airport Control Simulator
Group: Ruby Salazar, Carla Floricel, Md Nafiul Alam Nipu (CS)
Traffic control simulator for the CAVE2 virtual reality threater. Route arriving and departing aircraft safely and swiftly.
Selective Detective

Massive multiplayer game where everybody is a detective trying to find a thief that is stealing hearts. Designed for the CAVE2 VR theater.

The inspiration behind BAJA was the Society of Automotive engineers UIC chapter called UIC motorsports, specifically our SAE collegiate baja series team.
Barge Etat

Each night with the setting sun, the solar deity Ra travels through the
underworld aboard his magical barge, Atet, braving the insatiable
hunger of the serpent Apep, to be reborn anew with the dawn.
Coop Ghost
Group: Peter Bengston, Stephen Walden, Sidorela Lulaj (CS)
The ghost had passed away in the house. Upon the human finding an item that
had belonged to the ghost, the ghost becomes empowered and can now interact
with certain things. The ghost wants to lead the human through the story of their
life and death.
For Queen and Country
Group: Jean-Philippe Douailly-Backman, Hillary Bartman, Shruthi Kumar (CS)
A decree is issued from her majesty offering an extravagant reward for those who discover new shipping routes leading back to her kingdom. Hearing this, several ships set off on an unknown path leading to the kingdom, despite hearing terrible omens for any sailor traversing these unknown waters.

A Slime's Tale

Once upon a time, there was a hero destined for glory. This is not his tale. This is the tale of Sam the slime, a underdog who's only crime was running into the hero. This is a slime's tale!
Chimes
Group: Hibah Alam, Ayush Goyal, Vinay Kumar Valluru (CS)
Rumi would hear stories about wind chimes that would play songs to keep evil spirits away from peoples' homes. These chimes were stolen and strewn across the land when the sorcerress took over. Accompanied by his dog, Kalto, Rumi must go on a quest to find all the lost windchimes in order to put them together and defeat the sorceress to bring the winds back to his land.
CyberEscape

You're sucked into your computer and trapped inside your poorly written computer program, trapped in an area with portals that take you to different parts of this Cyber World. In order to escape, you must make your way through this treacherous world by exploiting and glitching your way to freedom!
Dark Echo II

First person horror game for the HTC Vive. Use sound waves to guide your path through darkness.
Flanders Fields
Group: Anas Ahmad, Mohammed Hasan, Sidney Smith (CS)
Flanders field is set immediately after the first world war. On November 11, 1918 at 11:00 am, Germany capitulated and agreed to the Armistice of Compiegne. This brought an end to the fighting in Europe. Celebrations broke out across the world. But for the soldiers in the trenches, fighting continued. The sound of both german and allied batteries could be heard well past the 11:00 am ceasefire, and thousands would be killed or wounded. The terrain of the battlefields would remain barren for years, with the only poppies to populate the area.

The player must escape from an abandoned space station that is overrun by
hostile alien
enemies, while utilizing light and darkness to their advantage.
Anesthesiology
Simulation
Group: Kyle Wong, Vincent Pham, Akhil Thuthika, Deven Patel (CS)
You are stepping into the shoes of an anesthesiologist and will be taking
care of your patients. The simulation encompasses real world
conflicts that can happen in the life of an anesthesiologist.
Gem Knights
Group: Arnav Dahal, Harsha Dodda, Jae Rim Choi (CS)
In this RPG game, a mining town is wiped out by monsters. A young boy survives with the help
of the ruby of wrath, but must battle next the necromancer who brought the
monsters upon the town. Very nice use of shaders.
Luke Holmes
Group: Dennis Leancu, Janelle Cueto, Daia Elsalaymeh (CS)
Leukocyte "Luke" Holmes, private investigator, is tasked with discovering
the source of an infection in his city.
Luke and his companions must decipher various clues and cryptic messages to
stop the virus.

CaveChef

CAVEChef is a serious game for legs rehabilitation in post-stroke patients using a 3rd person perspective.
The Paladin[s]
Group: Kamil Piekutowski, Maciej Szpakowski, Shi Yin (CS) and Olga Ziminska (Writer)
Paladin[s] is a puzzle+stealth game running in CAVE2 for players who like to cooperate, supports two players sitting back to back, controlling the same character in two different but similar worlds at the same time.
The Fear Engine

“The Fear Engine†is a story based journey through a hyper-realistic virtual reality game within the game.
You need to confront your fears and bad memories in order to beat and escape the game.

The idea of Unfinished Tales is to help the storybook complete each of three stories by playing as characters in the book and gathering a party as you progress.

forest from evil shadow-foxes.
A Sandbox of Sound

The Sandbox is a platforming game whose content is dynamically generated to match your music library.
Theseus

A horrible half-man, half-bull Minotaur has taken residence in a labyrinth sewer and has been kidnapping and eating children from
the city above. You, the hero Theseus, need to locate and kill this foul beast.
Trans-Verse

Help a cute detective complete movement puzzles and defeat the enemy faction as you save two parallel universes from eminent (sic! :-)
destruction.
Spirits Up

A small but fierce doll has been forgotten in the basement by its owner. Now the toy has to fight her way back up to light -- using a pen!
Coded_reality

Coded_reality() is a serious game that uses a modifiable game world to teach players how to program through a series of puzzles.
Final Projects 2011
Victor Powell and Tim Luciani (CS), and Nina Musser (Art) showcase Cloud
Factory. Try to generate 3D clouds that match the pattern
shown ("pants", "turtle", "Justin Bieber"? Just kidding :-). Under the hood, some quite impressive work: a marching-cubes
algorithm to merge individual floating blobs on the fly.
Brian Dicks, Patrick Hogg, and Tom Kierzkowski (CS), Lawrence Plofker
(Writer), Elizabeth Martin and Ami Saroka (Art) created Heist, a dark and stylish Cops and Thieves cooperative game featuring motion capture
animation from the CMU MoCap database.
Jay Sawyer, Luke Weng, and Eric Greif (CS), Elizabeth Shawn (Art) and
Laura Belluomini (Writer) put together Hey Diddle Diddle, a nursery-rhyme game in
which the Cow attemps to get enough points to buy itself a space
shuttle and then jump over the Moon. Very nice 3D physics, and a lot of
fun.
Mike Lew, Gabe de Forest and Tim Pittman (CS), Clayton Chowaniek
(Writer), Will Francis and Dave Szyilagi (Art) go the full nine yards
with Petri Wars, a real time strategy networked game on the smallest scale. Divide
bacteria to Conquer!
Wen Xu, Andrew Yin, James Weaver (CS), Meredith Moriarty and Evan Gooding (Art), and
Jake Robbins (Writer) created Warrior Rabbits and
Squirrels, a serious cooperative game to teach diversity youngsters resilience
skills against bullying. The team worked with the Pitt Graduate School of
Public Health specialists to design the dialogs and actions for the
game. What an awesome mission!
John Fetterholf (Writer and CS), Adam Bartos and Daniel Carr (CS), and
Meredith Moriarty (Art) showcase their brainchild Lazlow
and Dead Poet Spells, a game with a truly spellbinding
story. Orphaned Lazlow needs to rescue his grandpa and cat on a stormy
Halloween. He can only rely on magic spells from his dear friends, all dead poets -- there's
Bukowski and Sartre and much more... By the way, you're a torus, and
you play with a PS3 controller!
