The unit of measure in this one-point perspective system is controlled by the circumference of the oval in the rectangle.
As the horizontal and vertical lines move toward the center, the distance between these lines becomes less, but line thickness increases. The lines become bars, and occupy space in their own right.
The thickness shows the weave of the construction. It moves inward from the corners, about to crush the center.
The different colors of the bars pulls at the system, as though wanting to escape.

As in the preceding image, we can image that we are looking down the length of the horizon line, because the space in this system of projection decreases from the four corners down to zero at the vanishing point.
