Dana Plepys Featured in ACM SIGGRAPH Member Profile
ACM SIGGRAPH has published a Member Profile of Dana Plepys, who recently retired after 36 years as Associate Director of the Electronic Visualization Laboratory (EVL) at the University of Illinois Chicago.
In the profile, Plepys reflects on a career spanning lab operations, proposal development, project management, and technology transfer, and on her longstanding role in supporting EVL’s students, researchers, and faculty. She also looks back on more than four decades with SIGGRAPH, beginning as a student volunteer at SIGGRAPH ’83 and continuing through 31 years producing the SIGGRAPH Video Review, a 180-plus-issue archive of computer graphics history now digitized and preserved with the Charles Babbage Institute.
Plepys holds a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and an MFA in Electronic Visualization from UIC.
