In most Avid setups, all you need to do is open the Digitize Tool (pictured
above) and set a few parameters to digitize footage into your project.
The Avid is built to digitize media at full resolution, the only setting
that needs to be set outside of the digitizing window is setting the video
input signal in the Video Input Tool.
Workflow
-
Select the tracks you wish to digitize.
-
Select the Bin you wish to digitize into.
-
Select the AVR setting for your project. Green
screen footage requires AVR77.
-
Select the drives you wish to digitize onto. At AVR77 you should split
the audio and video onto seperate volumes.
-
Select your clips IN and OUT point.
-
Hit the Record button, or log the clip to a bin for later batch digitization.
-
It will be necessary to export your media files as QuickTime movies for
importation into After Effects, or use the Ultimatte plug-in within the
Avid itself.
