Every production of a short story, novel or film begins with a study of your
main characters. Studies could be as complicated as a novel filled with backstory
that fully explains the life and motivation of your protagonist or
it could be as important as a visual representation. The model sheet is an excellent tool for
any modeler. It not only provides a view of the character from all sides, but it
also gives a sense of proportion, weight, and balance. Model sheets, and sketchs
of props and scenery are secret weapons of the best modelers. Being able to
visualize in 2 dimensions makes the leap into the 3rd dimension a bit easier. This is a model sheet for "Faint Recollection", an animated film I am currently modeling. [ m o d e l i n g ] |
