Kapil Arora is currently an MFA candidate in Electronic
Visualization Laboratory (EVL), UIC. The last two years he is exploring
the field of virtual reality and creating art for large display
systems that are being developed in EVL. He received his BA in Design
from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Guwahati. Currently
he is working as a Research Assistant at EVL, assisting in CAVE
demos.
Helen-Nicole Kostis is a media artist that works with video,
animation, virtual environments, physical and digital sculpture.
She is captivated by the creation of new, synthetic worlds, immersive
bodily experiences, the combination of virtual and physical realities
and the discourse that is generated by their coexistence. Born in
1976, lives and works in Chicago, USA. She has received a BS in
Mathematics (1998) from the University of Ioannina (UOI), Greece,
a MS in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago
(UIC), and is currently pursuing a Masters in Fine Arts at
the same institution. She currently works as a Research Assistant
at the Electronic Visualization Laboratory (EVL), University of
Illinois at Chicago (UIC), where she serves as a technical leader
in CAVE based tele-immersive demonstrations and exhibitions, under
the supervision of EVLs co-director Prof. Daniel J. Sandin,
and is also member of EVLs web development group being responsible
for site content and integration of movies into the site, including
technical solutions and video editing, under the supervision of
EVLs Associate Director Dana Plepys. She has exhibited at
the Canariasmediafest International Video and Multimedia
Festival of the Canaries (2002), Version>03 :: Digital Arts Convergence
- Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago (2003), IDEAS Festival (2003,
2004), IEEE VR Open House at EVL (2004), Networks Art and Collaboration
Conference (2004), Electronic Visualization Exhibit (2004), Virtual
Worlds Festival Sao Paolo - Brazil (2004), Studio 74 Artful
Object (2004) and in Electronic Imaging Science and Technology SPIE
(2005).
Sangyoon Lee is a technical specialist and a digital artist
who is interested in computer graphics, gaming, and virtual reality.
He has received a BS (1997) and a MS (1999) in Architectural Engineering
from Yonsei University, Korea, and he is currently studying in the
School of Art & Design, University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC)
towards the MFA, EV degree. He has worked in the computer gaming
field researching and promoting Korean game industry from 1999 to
2000. He has also participated in developing computer game engine
software and designing game contents for massive multiplayer online
RPG game (MMORPG) as a researcher in Electronics and Telecommunications
Research Institute (ETRI), Daejeon, Korea from 2001 to 2002. Currently,
he works as teaching assistant at UIC to implement and administrate
systems including server, VR systems, and applications.

HyeYun Park is an MFA candidate in Electronic Visualization
Laboratory, UIC. She received her BFA in Oriental Painting from
Ewha University in Seoul, Korea. She had work experiences as Assistant
of Public Relations at SBS (Seoul Broadcasting System) Broadcasting
Company and Developer of Children's education departments at Dacom
I-Elite in Korea. She currently works as a Research Assistant at
EVL, assisting Audio/Video support. Her interests include real-time
interactive media art, computer graphics, painting, interactive
installation and VR art. Currently her projects are primarily computer-based
works which investigate imagery of life, tangible media and mundane
technological tools. Her background combining fine arts and media
production gives her a unique perspective on using all media for
artistic expression.
Daria Tsoupikova is an Assistant Professor in the School
of Art and Design at University of Illinois at Chicago. Her research
and artwork include virtual reality, educational multimedia, electronic
visualization, interactive animation, and computer graphics. Her
work lies at the crossroads of artistic and technological innovation,
and explores the potential of new media and interactivity in relation
to traditional arts. Born in 1971 in Moscow, Russia, she received
her BFA in Graphic Design from the Department of Art of Moscow State
Academy and her MFA in Computer Graphics from the Syracuse University.
She worked as an artist and computer graphics designer in Moscow,
Russia, and several New York companies, including Siegelgale Inc,
New York, NY, and Firstbornmultimedia Inc., New York, NY. Prior
to joining UIC, she taught at the University of Rochester, Syracuse
University, and Moscow. Her recent exhibitions include SIGGRAPH
2002, San Antonio, TX (2002), Version 03, International annual festival
of computer art in the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA), Chicago,
IL(2003), IDEAS 2003 Festival, Indiana University, Bloomington,
