EVL MFA candidate Julio Obelleiro exhibits his collaborative work The Magic Torch in Segovia, Spain during the Full Moonlight event. The festival is an overnight cultural event designed to promote the European Capital of Culture candidacy of the city. The Magic Torch installation will be located at the 15th century historical monument Casa de los Picos, 10pm to 2:16am the night of June 6th. Hundreds of small stars, planets, asteroids and unusual shapes will flow from the “magic” torch’s beam of light when participants control the torch.

The Magic Torch was developed by Obelleiro and Garcia during Interactivos? 06 at Medialab-Prado under the art collective the two formed, Play the Magic. The Magic Torch continues to be widely exhibited, and is part of the permanent collection of the CosmoCaixa Science Museum, Madrid.
