About

Professor Andruid Kerne joins the Department of Computer Science and EVL as incoming faculty specializing in Human Computer Interaction. Kerne comes to UIC completing his assignment to the National Science Foundation (NSF) as a "rotator" program director, in the Division of Information and Intelligent Systems, Human-Centered Computing program, and professor at the Texas A&M Department of Computer Science and Engineering. His interest include transdisciplinary research and teaching with emphasis on investigating the future of human expression, integrating art and design with science.

Kerne directs the Interface Ecology Lab, which addresses how to generate new knowledge by combining methods and their disciplines, where theory and practice are connected.
