A brush and ink copy painting of an oil painting by Claude Lorrain,
entitled "The Sermon on the Mount." This study painting forces the problem
of the translation of a larger oil painting to a small ink painting.
"Saint John in the Desert"
This is an original composition of St. John in the desert, complete with
his bible, cross, and whip. He has fallen on the desert floor, in a full
mystic trance. His denial of all human pleasure, his mortification of
his flesh, and his continual pray has brought him into grace.
