1988 Oil Landscapes
This is the first of the Mountain Hexagram paintings, entitled "Stand Still", 1988.
The Mountain trigrams of the I Ching is represented in 16 of the sixty-four hexagrams that
comprize the underlying struture. For each of the hexagrams that contain a "mountain"
trigram, a landscape was painted which expresses the meaning of the hexagram. "Stand Still"
meanings standing between the mountains, unable to move foreward or to retreat.
