In the early ’90s, EVL collaborated with the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA), University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign on the interface design and functionality of Mosaic, the earliest web-browser and predecessor to Netscape.

Other projects, such as Cryptoclub and Synthecology, focus on the web as a community for artistic collaboration or to facilitate early childhood education in the sciences.
